Appeon PowerServer allows organizations to deploy PowerBuilder applications to the Cloud automatically and turns client/server applications into Web Services clients that do not require database drivers on the client. All database access is delegated to web services.
PowerServer includes a suite of tools and C# libraries to automatically convert client/server PowerBuilder applications to web-enabled Cloud Apps with zero touch deployment, allowing PowerBuilder applications to install seamlessly without admin rights by simply clicking a hyperlink. After being run once applications update automatically and incrementally each time the app is started. No database drivers are required on the client when using web services, which is helpful for distributed workforces.
This may sound too good to be true and you'll have to see it to believe it. Well, we challenge you to do just that by attending our Appeon PowerServer 2022 Workshop.

SnapDevelop 2022 is a lightweight C# IDE that is compatible with Microsoft Visual Studio™, but designed to be simpler to install and more focused on migrating PowerBuilder code to C# through an integrated code generation process. SnapDevelop includes SnapObjects, a powerful, ultrafast ORM that includes the .NET DataWindow, which brings the productivity of PowerBuilder to C# development. SnapDevelop consists of open-source C# libraries that provide a non-visual DataWindow & other commonly-used PowerBuilder features to .NET. A DataWindow Converter is also included to convert existing DataWindows to standard C# POCO models automatically.

The PowerScript Migrator automatically ports PowerBuilder business logic and DataWindows to C#. The PowerScript Migrator is a code converter that ports PowerBuilder business logic to C#. Approximately 80-95% of non-visual PowerScript and embedded SQL is supported. PowerBuilder business logic is mapped to equivalent functions provided by the open-source .NET DataStore, SnapObjects, and .NET Core frameworks. Mapping to such equivalents essentially reduces project risk from a rewrite to a port. Porting existing PowerBuilder code is the fastest and lowest-risk approach to migrating to .NET.
